After seeing a $7 product go viral on social media and amass over $11K in about a week, my feelings changed, ha. threads While I didn’t think I could compete with that success, I thought, there might be something to a low-ticket guide and decided to draft up and make my own for five bucks. This is it, if you want to check it out. It’s a starter guide for beginners who want to start UGC (user-generated content). UGC is for brands to get influencer-style content made by content creators that don’t post, they only create. It’s a cost-effective marketing strategy and UGC creators can make a full-time income doing freelance content creation like this. I’ve done it off and on for years, along with brand deals, and my UGC videos have fetched up to $750/video. UGC is also a low/no startup cost business that people can start and the $5 guide hand holds newbies to start. Five bucks is a super low barrier. Here’s how things have gone. I’m trying to sell to content creators or people who want to start a social media side hustle. This is for people who know about content creation. They might have social media accounts and post to them. That’s really the only prerequisite. And, if you don’t know how to do that, then you can learn, easily, I think. What problem do I solve? Teaching UGC to beginners who want to start as UGC creators. How can I scale big? How do you scale a $5 product? Upsell to a bigger product (now I’m upselling to my $37 UGC campaign-finding ebook) Eventually I’ll add a coaching service Eventually I may add Meta ads What makes a low-ticket product successful? I think being a binge buy definitely helps. You see a product, the price is so low, you don’t even think about it. And, you don’t just buy it to buy it. It solves a problem for you and you can see that clearly so, you don’t hesitate when you see the $5 price tag. This product didn’t go through a formal launch of any kind and I didn’t mass-share it to my email list but, here’s how sales are going so far… The opening price was $5 with a coupon code, but since I changed it to $15, sales have slowed quite a bit. That’s my progress so far. With no paid marketing. Little organic advertising. And, I didn’t even fully make this ebook from scratch. I’m in this online course and community that is home to 40,000 PLR products. PLR stands for private label rights. These are digital goods that you can download, edit, and sell as your own. It’s actually in the process of being re-branded and not available for purchase but, I’ll update this story when the new community is live.
